KEITH URBAN AMONG STARS ON THE WATER
Turns out there were two stars on, make that, above, the water on the landmark Santa Monica pier recently. There for a photo shoot was keith urban. While they snapped shots of his new look (a longer do), keith was distracted by a familiar pretty face strolling the pier. It was Martina McBride along with husband John and daughters Delaney and Emma.
Supermodel Niki makes her CMT debut
Lovely/talented supermodel Niki Taylor, who recently moved to Brentwood, shares some super-sexy moments with keith urban in his latest music video, for Somebody Like You. It made its debut Wednesday on CMT's Most Wanted Live.
Seems Niki was telling her hair/makeup person, one Debra Wingo, that she might be interested in being in a country music video. It just so happens that Debra does hair/makeup for keith as well, and Debra mentioned that keith was getting ready to do a video. Voila!
And it was rather steamy: In Malibu Canyon in California, Niki caresses keith's face, touches his lips, kisses his forehead, leans into his arms ... You get the idea.
The video has several young ladies mainly those with crushes on keith wondering if perhaps there was some realism in the acting. So are keith and Niki an item?
The short answer: No, at least not yet.
''The beating hearts should not stop beating. Niki and keith are good friends,'' keith's spokesman said.
Keith himself said in a statement: ''She was positively great to work with, and I can't believe how comfortable she made me feel. The scenes we shot were effortless.''
In a statement issued by keith's record label, Niki, who was in a near-fatal car crash last year, said: ''I really wanted to do this video with keith. This song has really inspired me in light of everything I've been through this past year.''

It's a Charity Thing
Keith Urban and Emerson Drive will take part in pop singer-songwriter-
producer Richard Marx's second annual All Star Music Bash. Guitar
great Steve Cropper and 98 Degrees' Nick Lachey also will perform at
the event, which is set for Oct. 1 at Nashville's Gaylord Opryland
Resort & Convention Center. Last year's concert raised more than
$85,000 for cystic-fibrosis research.
KEITH URBAN'S ALBUM PUSHED TO OCTOBER 8TH
First singles are barometers that can control the release dates of albums. Worst case, the single is a stiff and the album is pushed back for months to maybe never. Best case, the single comes out so hot, the album is pushed up, like Toby Keith's Unleashed was moved up to capitalize on the popularity of "Courtesy of the Red White & Blue." Same thing is happening for keith urban's new album GOLDEN ROAD. The first single "Somebody Like You" has turned into such a golden performance that its release has been moved up from a November release to October 8th.
Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Terri Clark, Emerson Drive and Paul Brandt have been added to the list of performers at the Canadian Country Music Association's annual awards show, which will be televised live on CMT in the United States on Sept. 9. Others appearing on the show include Diamond Rio, Keith Urban and Kenny Rogers.
Keith Urban's new single "Somebody Like You" is exploding at radio. After only eight weeks at radio, the first single release from his forthcoming album, Golden Road, album sits at Number 13 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. Urban told us what inspired the song he co-wrote with John Shanks: "I was envisioning looking at my partner and thinking, 'I would really love to love somebody like she loves me.' So, I wanna love 'Somebody Like You' wasn't just so much wanting to love somebody like you... I wanna love 'em the way you love 'em too. I want to love somebody like you do. And I love the twist of the phrase there and the fact that it could be taken two ways."
Due to the strong response to the song, the release date of Urban's Golden Road album has been pushed up to October 8, from its original street date in November. The singer is thrilled with his most recent success. "Excited? How about blown way.... How about 'Oh My God,' says Urban. "I think what really effects me though is the way it seems to have hit people in the same way it hit me when we wrote it. I also think it has set the tone for the album and I'm eagerly awaiting October 8 like a proud father."

KEITH URBAN TO JOIN SOLD OUT FARM AID 2002
Keith Urban has joined the already stellar lineup for the sold out
Farm Aid 2002 concert, scheduled for Sept. 21 at the Post-Gazette
Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA. Urban, who's new single "Somebody Like
You" is already a top 10 hit, postponed his own concert date in
Paducah, KY to help Farm Aid support farm families.
"Supporting American farmers is something we all need to do,
especially if we want to eat. I postponed a concert in Paducah, KY so
I could be part of this show. We are working very hard to reschedule
that performance (I will get there). I promise Paducah I'll work
extra hard on stage to give them the best show ever," said Urban.
WHY HIM :New Zealand-born and Brisbane-raised, Urban is a critically acclaimed guitarist who has been featured on albums by Garth Brooks, the Dixie Chicks, and Steve Wariner. His self-titled debut produced the 2001 Grammy-nominated instrumental ''Rollercoaster'' and three Billboard country Top 10 hits, including the No. 1 single ''But for the Grace of God.''
WHAT'S HOT: With his soul patch, thrice-pierced ears, and endless supply of open shirts and painted-on jeans, this guy makes Enrique Iglesias look conservative.
WHAT'S NOT :That sketchy 2001 Playgirl spread in which he posed wearing little more than a guitar and a smile
(Some of us may beg to differ on this point!!)
WHAT'S NEXT: Urban will continue to tour small venues throughout the U.S. until October, when his sophomore album is set to hit stores. The first single, ''Somebody Like You,'' is already in the Billboard country Top 40, only a month after its June 14 release.

Urban. "To have had that many fans, and hopefully people that have
never heard or seen my music before, checking out the video, is
really awesome. I plan on doing more things like this."

album Golden Road, due in stores October 8th. In addition to its

Keith Urban Gets 'Good Reminder' From New Tattoo
Keith Urban is sporting a new tattoo in a very visible place--his
right wrist. The singer wanted a positive message that would serve as
a source of daily inspiration, so he had the phrase "love conquers
all" in Latin tattooed around his wrist.
LAUNCH spoke with Urban about his motivation behind the permanent
inscription: "I wanted something on my wrist that I could see. I
have a couple tattoos on my back, but I never get to see 'em, you
know? Somebody made the suggestion that this is a good one, and I
guess the more I thought about it the more I thought, 'Seeing 'love
conquers all' written...if you see that each day, it's kind of a good
reminder that it does."
Urban is gearing up for the release of his sophomore album, Golden
Road, which hits retail outlets October 8. The album's debut
single, "Somebody Like You," sits at Number Eight on the Billboard
