ARIA MUSIC AWARDS ACHIEVEMENT AWARD TO KEITH URBAN
In recognition of outstanding sales and chart success in the U.S. market,
country music star keith urban is this year's Outstanding Achievement Award
recipient. A Nashville resident for the past eight years, keith will be
making a whirlwind two-day trip home to accept the award. The Outstanding
Achievement Award recognizes extraordinary achievement by an Australian
artist overseas and/or at home. Previous recipients of this prestigious
award include Kylie Minogue, INXS, Savage Garden and silverchair to name a
few.

Urban Honored Down Under
Keith Urban will be in his native Australia Wednesday (Oct. 3) to receive
the Australian Recording Industry Association's outstanding achievement
award. Urban will receive the award during the ARIA's annual awards show at
the Capitol Theatre in Sydney. The honor recognizes extraordinary
achievement by an Australian artist overseas or at home. "What genuinely
moves me about this is that it is a non-genre award," Urban said. "Every
performer values it when they are acknowledged for their artistry rather
than for just the specific genre of music they are working in."

Written by John Shanks and Keith Urban, "Somebody Like You" is the first release from Keith's - as yet untitled - second album due out in October 2002. The video is scheduled to debut on CMT & GAC by the end of July.
